Does BeanGrader work with roasted coffee?

No. BeanGrader is designed exclusively for green coffee beans. The SCA defect grading methodology applies only to green coffee. Roasted coffee cannot be analyzed for green coffee defects as roasting changes the appearance of beans.

What defects can BeanGrader detect?

BeanGrader identifies defects aligned with SCA green arabica methodology, including Category 1 defects (full black, full sour, fungus damage, foreign matter, severe insect damage) and Category 2 defects (partial black, partial sour, floaters, immature, withered, shells, broken/chipped, hull/husk, slight insect damage).

Is BeanGrader a replacement for Q Graders?

No. BeanGrader is designed for pre-screening and training purposes only. It provides indicative assessments aligned with SCA standards but is not a replacement for certified Q Graders or official SCA certification. For commercial grading and export documentation, always consult a certified professional.

How accurate is the AI analysis?

BeanGrader uses advanced AI vision technology to provide consistent, indicative assessments. While results are aligned with SCA methodology, AI analysis may contain variations and should be used as a pre-screening tool alongside professional judgment, not as a definitive grading.

How much does BeanGrader cost?

BeanGrader is free to download and includes 3 complimentary analyses. After that, you can purchase credit packages as needed. Credits never expire and there are no subscriptions or recurring fees.

Do analysis credits expire?

No, credits never expire. Purchase credits when you need them and use them whenever you're ready. There are no time limits or expiration dates on your credit balance.

What devices are supported?

BeanGrader is available for iOS (iPhone) and Android devices. Download from the App Store or Google Play to get started.

How do I take a good photo for analysis?

Spread your green coffee sample on a neutral, contrasting surface (white or light-colored works best). Ensure good lighting without harsh shadows, and take a clear, focused photo from directly above the sample. The AI handles the rest.

Can I generate reports to share with clients?

Yes. BeanGrader generates PDF reports with full analysis details, including defect breakdowns, bean counts, and quality assessments. Reports include a verifiable certificate number that recipients can validate on our website.

Yes. Images are processed in real-time and are not stored for AI training purposes. Your analysis history is stored securely in your account and can be deleted at any time. We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your data.

Delete your account

Deletion happens inside the BeanGrader mobile app, against the session you already hold. We do not run a web form that takes a password: one leaked password should never be enough to destroy somebody's records.

How to delete your account

Open the BeanGrader app on your phone.
Sign in if you are not already signed in.
Go to Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account.
Confirm. Your account and its data are removed immediately.

If you cannot get into the app

Lost phone, or locked out? Email us from the address on the account and we will process the deletion manually within 30 days. Use the subject delete my account.

What gets deleted

Your account, profile name and email address
Every analysis, sample photo, defect result and certificate you generated
Your public portfolio page, if you published one
Any remaining credit balance, which is forfeited on deletion
Linked Apple and Google sign-in identifiers

We keep anonymous, aggregated usage statistics that cannot be traced back to you, and any records we are legally required to retain, such as tax invoices for credit purchases. Everything else is irreversibly removed. Spend or export anything you care about before you delete: there is no undo, and any remaining credits are forfeited.
