Coffee Sample Images
When you use our analysis service, we process the coffee bean images you submit. These images are sent to our AI provider for real-time analysis. Images may be temporarily stored on our servers for processing but are automatically deleted after analysis is complete. We do not retain your images for training purposes.
Social Login Data
If you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from these providers. We do not receive or store your social account passwords. Your use of these sign-in options is subject to the respective provider's privacy policies.
Mobile App Permissions
Our mobile app may request the following permissions:
- Camera: Required to photograph coffee samples for analysis
- Photo Library: Optional, to select existing photos for analysis
- Network Access: Required to communicate with our servers
How We Use Your Information

AI Processing and Data
Our service uses artificial intelligence (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to analyze coffee bean images. Important information about AI processing:
- Images are processed in real-time and are not stored by Anthropic for training purposes
- Analysis results are stored in your account history for your reference
- We do not use your images to train or improve AI models without explicit consent
- AI analysis is provided as a pre-screening tool and should not replace certified professional grading when required
- Analysis results may vary and are not guaranteed to be accurate
Third-Party Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party services to operate BeanGrader:
- Anthropic: AI-powered image analysis (Claude API)
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud hosting, storage, and infrastructure
- Payment Processor: Secure payment processing for credit purchases
- Resend: Transactional email delivery
- Analytics services: Anonymous usage analytics to improve our service
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including: encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest, secure password hashing, access controls and authentication, regular security assessments, and secure infrastructure. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain your data as follows:
- Account data: Retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion for legal compliance
- Analysis history: Retained to provide you with historical records, deleted upon account deletion
- Payment records: Retained as required by tax and accounting laws
- Server logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security and troubleshooting
International Data Transfers
BeanGrader is operated from the United States. If you access our service from outside the US, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the US or other countries where our service providers operate. By using our service, you consent to such transfers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data.
